The VeloX Baseball Training Program (founded and directed by pitching specialist Kyle Lugar) is a data-driven pitcher development system operating out of the KD Athletic facility in Sterling Heights, Michigan. The program focuses entirely on maximizing throwing velocity, mechanical precision, and long-term arm durability through elite tracking technology and integrated strength training.
VeloX has an official developmental partnership with the Motor City Hit Dogs, a premier travel baseball organization.
High-Performance Technology & Analytics
The program eliminates guesswork by utilizing identical diagnostic tools trusted by Major League Baseball (MLB) and Olympic athletes:
- TrackMan Baseball: Captures real-time pitch analytics frame-by-frame, tracking velocity, spin rate, release points, and precise ball movement.
- VALD ForceDecks & Force Plates: Measures lower-body force output, jump performance, and physical readiness while detecting muscular asymmetries.
- VALD SmartSpeed: Wireless timing gates used to accurately record sprint speed, acceleration, and multidirectional agility.
- Radar Systems: Utilizes professional-grade Stalker Sport Radar and Pocket Radar Smart Coach technology for immediate velocity tracking.
- VeloX Athlete Performance Portal: Provides athletes with 24/7 online access to personal records, TrackMan feedback, leaderboards, and progress tracking.
Integrated Strength & Conditioning
VeloX provides customized physical conditioning to ensure explosive mechanics carry over onto the playing field:
- VeloX Strength Programming: Powered by specialized coach Chris Roy via the TrainHeroic app marketplace.
- Movement Target Metrics: Focuses on rotational power (medicine ball training), deceleration/sprint acceleration, and trunk mobility.
- Arm Care Protocols: Direct focus on upper-body durability, physical recovery systems, and protective routines to stave off season-ending arm injuries.
